Hobbit's Glen is a neighborhood in the Village of Harper's Choice in Columbia, Md. It is one of the older neighborhoods in Columbia ... the homes were built in the 1960's through the early 1980's. Most of the homes are Contemporary designs with open floor plans, lofty ceilings, and lots of windows. Many of the homes back to the scenic Hobbit's Glen Golf Course. The area is adjacent to the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area with thousands of acres of parkland, streams, walking paths and verdant woodlands. Howard County public schools are ranked among the best schools in the State of Maryland. The children who live in the Hobbit's Glen neighborhood are districted to attend Longfellow Elementary, Harper's Choice Middle, and Wilde Lake High Schools.

It is unfortunate that as beautiful as this area is, there are people within this community that are proven racist and piss poor citizens. Namely, within the Lightfoot Path circle of townhomes, my wife and 3 children have been scrutinized, defamed and harrassed by Jeff Gamble and his wife. When we first moved into our Property, my wife told me that someone was actually inside of our house, the police were called and noone was found to be inside. Since this incident they have called the Howard County Police on us for absolutely nothing.
This community is horrified of african american families and it makes the entire area look bad. They constantly call our landlord about things that could easily be resolved by knocking on our door. For instance, parking too far out of a park, or for our trash being scattered due to some unclaimed cats that rummage through our trash. I have since filed several claims against this one particular family, and unfortunately against the landlord.
Columbia is a great place to live, but Racism and unfair treatment should not be tolerated anywhere.
